Careful analysis of other infected cell profiles may indicate, however, that this protein is also induced in the absence of tunicamycin (Wechsler & Fields, 1978a;Rima et al, 1981). Large precursors of the H protein analogous to the HNo protein of Newcastle disease virus (Nagai et al, 1976) have not yet been identified in infected cells, although, recently, an 85K Ho protein has been reported in CDV-infected cells (Shapshak et al, 1982).…”

A number of host proteins induced after paramyxovirus infection (Peluso et al, 1978) are now also beginning to be recognized in morbillivirus-infected cells (Graves, 1981;Rima et al, 1981Rima et al, , 1983. Vainionp~i~i (1979) observed in infected cells, but not in virions, a 65K protein probably related to the P protein (Graves, 1981), a 38K protein possibly related to M or P, and the 18K protein.…”

cDNA Cloning of the Messenger RNAs of Five Genes of Canine Distemper Virus

“…These proteins have not yet been identified in vivo in labelled CDV-infected cell lysates but they are present in rabbit reticulocyte lysates stimulated with pA+RNA from CDV-infected cells. The identity of the CDV 42K protein is unknown but in MV-infected cells we have previously identified a protein designated X (Rima et al, 1981) which was found to have extensive peptide homology with the P protein. This X protein is made in vivo and in vitro (Carter et al, 1983) and it is interesting to note that one of the early measles clones obtained by Rozenblatt et al (1982) and now shown to be a P clone by Bellini et al (1984), also directs the synthesis of a 40K protein.…”
