A Six Coordinated Phosphorus(V) Corrole Bearing Two Hydroxyl Axial Ligands: X‐Ray Structure, DNA Interaction, Photonuclease Activity, and Cytotoxicity towards Tumor Cells

Abstract: Phosphorus corrole has been explored as a promising photosensiter for photodynamic therapy (PDT) treatment in decade. A new trans‐bishydroxyl axial ligated phosphorus(V) 5, 15‐bis(pentafluorophenyl)‐10(p‐hydroxylphenyl) corrole (1‐P) was synthesized and well characterized by X‐ray structure determination. Complex 1‐P could bind ct‐DNA via an outside binding mode and displayed good photonuclease activity. After illumination, it might significantly generate singlet oxygen, hydroxyl radical and superoxide anion r… Show more

“…Corrole 1 , 1‐Ga , 1‐P were synthesized according to the previous literature with slight modifications on the conditions(Scheme 1). [12,11k,l] 1‐Ga complex was prepared by the reflux of free base corroles and GaCl 3 using pyridine as solvent under a nitrogen atmosphere. 1‐P was obtained by refluxing the mixture of free base corrole 1 and PCl 3 in pyridine under the protection of N 2 .…”
