A sensitive lead titanate nano-structured sensor for electrochemical determination of pentoxifylline drug in real samples

Abstract: In the present study, lead titanate nano-sized powders were synthesized using citric acid gel method. The nanopowders were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Then, a nanocomposite system based on lead titanate nanopowders and carbon paste electrode (CPE) was designed and applied for determination of pentoxifylline (PTX). The prepared nanostructured electrode exhibited voltammetric responses with high sensitivity and selectivity for PTX and a detection limit of 2… Show more

“…For the fungal strains, H 2 Lm, CuLm, and ZnLm established zoom of inhibited action = 19, 29, and 25 mm against the C. albicans growth, = 15, 20, and 19 mm against the A. flavus growth, and finally, = 14, 27, and 24 mm against the T. rubrum growth, as obtained from Table 2. Notably, the inhibition action for CuLm and ZnLm against both bacterial/fungal microbes was enhanced more than that action of H 2 Lm, that is, the free ligand 10,25 . Despite, the similar inhibition action for both CuLm and ZnLm, CuLm showed little more enhanced action of inhibition against both types of microorganisms.…”

“…From the literature survey, the less toxicity and harmless side effects of some transition metals, 10,11 such as Co, Zn, Cu, Ni, and V, motivated many researchers to publish progressed works concerning the considerable biological activity, such as, of Cu(I/II)‐coordination compounds of various backbone ligands, as reported currently 12 . The antibacterial reactivity of new constructed mononuclear vanadium (III) complexes of hydrazide‐hydrazone ligands was studied in detail with comparable theoretical essays, which were published by Meenatchi et al 13 Azo‐methine and imine chelates of VO 2+ , Zn 2+ , and Cu 2+ have been employed against DNA for the evaluation of their interacting ability, which represented currently referring to the nature of such interacting binding 14 .…”

“…Voltammetry is a technique utilized for the analysis of compounds that undergo oxidation or reduction. In the voltammetry methods normally using electrodes such as glassy carbon electrodes (GCE), Carbon paste electrodes (CPE), screen printed electrodes (SPE), along with some modifiers [16][17][18][19][20][21][22]. Different modifiers will show different electrochemical activities [23][24][25][26][27][28].…”

“… 2 Of all oxidation methods, the electrochemical technique has received great attention for the advantage of employing a clean reagent (electron) for oxidation reaction, which has the environmental benefit of reducing secondary pollutants. 3 Therefore, from the point of environmental applications, it is a challenge to prepare an electrode with good physical, chemical and electrochemical stability, high selectivity, excellent conductivity, and great efficiency, which can produce substantial yield in a single step.…”
