“…Colloidal gold nanoparticles often serve as signal label of ITS for detection of varieties of analytes due to its unique optical properties and remarkable physical-chemical stability. Many gold-based ITS have been applied for qualitative and semiquantitative detection of protein biomarkers. In addition, significant attempts still need to be made to improve the sensitivity of ITS by introducing various labels , including quantum dots, , colored latex particles, and up-converting phosphors. These nanomaterials exhibit higher sensitivity and broader response range than colloidal gold based conventional ITS. Nonetheless, the increased sensitivity of these nanomaterials generates several drawbacks.…”

“…We began the fabrication of our sensors through physical adsorption of polyethylene glycol (PEG) onto SPCE. Concurrently, the signal amplification probes were prepared by mixing polyclonal secondary anti-ENO1 with 33.0 nm diameter AuNPs, thereby providing 151 nm AuNP congregates sensitized with secondary anti-ENO1 antibody molecules. , After sequential incubation with sample ENO1, the secondary anti-ENO1-tagged AuNP congregate bioprobes formed immunocomplexes on the primary monoclonal anti-ENO1-modified SPCE surface. Subsequent analysis using square wave voltammetry (SWV) revealed that this electrochemical immunosensor allowed the quantification of ENO1 to levels as low as 2.38 pg/mL.…”

“…Strip based ICG is very attractive in this context. Fortunately, during the last decade, few ICG test strips for screening of cancer have been commercially developed, such as for prostate cancer in the case of sensing prostate specific antigen (Nagatani et al, 2006;Omidfar et al, 2012b). EBV-specific VCA-IgA and other antibodies are measured using the ELISA assay in large screening programs (Cao et al, 2011).…”
