An Aggregate Signature based Trust Routing (ASTR) scheme is proposed to guarantee safe data collection in WSNs. In ASTR scheme, firstly, the aggregate signature approach is used to aggregate data and keep data integrity. What is more important, a light aggregate signature based detour routing scheme is proposed to send abstract information which includes the data sending time and ID of data, nodes' ID to the sink over different paths which can verify whether the data reaches the sink safely. In addition, the trust of a path is evaluated according to the success rate of the path. The trust of paths susceptible to frequent attack will be lowered and the path with high trust will be selected for data routing to avoid data gathering through low trust path and thereby increase the success rate of data gathering. Our comprehensive performance analysis has shown that, the ASTR scheme is able to effectively ensure an increase in success rate of data transmission by 23.23%, reduce the data amount loaded by the node by 53.59%, reduce the redundant data by 41.70%.

SummaryIn the upcoming era, one of the emergent technologies is “Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs),” which has provided various solutions in the field of defense, surveillance, and so on. But the main problems in the WSNs are security and energy‐efficient routing to the researchers. The deployment of security algorithms can monitor only the unauthorized signals to ensure security, but it lacks and leads to higher energy consumption, whereas the deployment of energy‐efficient routing algorithms is used only for the selection of routing paths, but it fails to ensure security. Hence, the main intent of this research work is to solve both problems by the following proposed models. Model 1 is “Identity‐Based Aggregate Signatures (IBAS)” that is the most effective security‐based framework protocol in this research work. Model 2 is the integration of IBAS and “Fuzzy Logic System (FLS)” that acts as an energy‐efficient algorithm, and here, FLS is used to find the optimal path from source to destination to transmit the data. Model 3 is the combination of IBAS and the “Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA)” for higher energy efficiency and auto localization by analyzing the entire route in WSN. Model 4 is the combination of IBAS, WOA, and the “Reinforcement Theory of WOA (RTWOA)” energy‐efficiency model with a twofold and weight factor strategy for better speed and accuracy. These models ensure security, energy efficiency, and auto localization. The simulation parameters such as “Energy Efficiency,” “Packet Delivery Ratio,” “Average delay,” “Throughput,” and “Energy Consumption” are evaluated, and results show that the performance of energy efficiency and security is higher in Model 4 when compared to the other three models.

In recent years, the research of Internet of vehicles (IoV) has received extensive attention. In IoV, vehicles can make intelligent decisions by exchanging the real‐time traffic information between other vehicles and IoV infrastructures, thereby reducing the probability of traffic jams and accidents. Although IoV has many advantages, it is necessary to ensure that the data are not edited, forged, or disclosed during the transmission. Also, the certificateless signature (CLS) seems to be the solution to this problem. While in the high‐intensity data transmission environment, the CLS scheme is inefficient for application. To improve the efficiency, the function of aggregation was introduced into the CLS. The certificateless aggregate signature (CL‐AS) can aggregate multiple signatures into a brief signature, reducing the computational cost and the size of signature. Nevertheless, most of the recent proposed CL‐AS schemes have problems of security or efficiency. In this paper, we presented an advanced efficient CL‐AS scheme with elliptic curve cryptography for the IoV environment. In addition, the proposed scheme uses pseudonyms in communications to prevent vehicles from revealing their identity. We proved the security of our proposal in the random oracle based on computational Diffie‐Hellman assumption. Also, the efficiency analysis and simulation show the superiority of our scheme.
