Abstract: According to the Meaningful Use of Speech Scale, 23% of children of the main group demonstrated the best results due to the better speech communication strategies. No significant between-group differences were found in the level of auditory perception 6 months after CI. The level of articulation was higher in the main group. Cognitive functioning was improved in children treated with cerebrolysin.

The delay in mental development is common in children. In combination with deafblood are one of the five most common causes of developmental abnormalities. Both parameters have a pronounced effect on the development of the child. Features of perception of sound, its carrying out, brain work form speech in children. It was revealed that audio scoring systems are not enough for hearing control, it is necessary to allocate children with risk factors and their combination. Cochlear implantation gives a significant influence on the development of higher nervous activity through perestroika, especially successful in sensitive periods.

At the present stage in the world there are many methods for restoring hearing in humans, but, unfortunately, not all methods are effective for high-grade hearing loss or deafness. Carrying out timely rehabilitation of patients with a deep degree of hearing loss, especially in childhood, is extremely important for social and psychological adaptation in society. In patients with severe hearing loss, cochlear implant surgery is the most effective treatment. This operation is possible while maintaining the anatomy of the inner ear and the conduction of the auditory nerve. This lecture details the general principles of rehabilitation of patients with hearing impairments of various etiologies, the tactics of selecting patients for cochlear implantation, which is of great importance for choosing a method for treating patients with hearing loss and their psychosocial adaptation.

Social isolation during the pandemic has exacerbated the problems of psychological support for families with a child with sensory impairments. The problem of analyzing the role of parents in correcting the development of children with disabilities, in particular, with sensory impairments, is examined from the standpoint of their functional responsibilities, but the actual state of affairs, in particular, the choice of reaction and adaptation strategies of the parents in families with such children, taking into account modern technological possibilities of correcting the health status of the children themselves. The article presents the generalized results of a study of coping behavior of parents in families with children with hearing impairments, conducted in 2018-2021 on the basis of the St. Petersburg State Public Healthcare Institution "Children's City Surdological Center". The problems that parents face when choosing strategies and models of coping behavior are systematized and are presented from the point of view of the psychological analysis of the social attitude toward the role and status of a child within a family.
