A Robust Video Watermarking Algorithm

Abstract: Problem statement: Video watermarking is well known as the process of embedding copyright information in video bit streams. It had been proposed in recent years to solve the problem of illegal manipulation and distribution of digital video. Approach: In this study, an effective, robust and imperceptible video watermarking algorithm was proposed. This algorithm was based on a cascade of two powerful mathematical transforms; Discrete Wavelets Transform (DWT) and Singular Value Decomposition (SVD). Two different … Show more

“…Imperceptibility indicates the watermark perceptual transparency [1], while robustness refers to the ability of extracting the embedded watermark from the received media even after an intentional or unintentional attack such as degradation, additive noise, rotation, cropping, or filtering [1] [2]. Two additional considerable issues of the watermarking techniques are data payload and normalized correlation, Data payload, also referred as capacity, includes methods that make it possible to embed the large information.…”

“…Effective techniques in watermarking should consider both imperceptivity and robustness of the algorithm. Imperceptibility refers to the watermark perceptual transparency [1], while robustness indicates the ability of extracting the embedded watermark from the digital media under intentional or unintentional attacks such as degradation, cropping, filtering or additive noise [1] [2]. Capacity and blindness of the watermarking techniques are two additional issues to be considered as well.…”

“…Many digital watermarking schemes have been proposed for still images and videos [2]. Most of them operate on uncompressed videos [3][4], while others embed watermarks directly into compressed videos [3,6]. The work on video specific watermarking can be further found in [7][8][9][10].…”
