A robust fingerprint watermark-based authentication scheme in H.264/AVC video

Abstract: In this paper, we propose a novel technique that uses fingerprint features with coordinates (x, y), angle and type of feature as watermark information for authentication in H.264/AVC video. We utilize some techniques such as Gabor algorithm, locally adaptive thresholding, and Hilditch's thinning together with heuristic rules and Hamming measurement to optimally extract minutiae vector (x, y, angle, type) from fingerprint as well as to improve accuracy of matching process. Furthermore, to make our scheme robust… Show more

“…Our work deals with content authentication software based implementation. The state-of-the-art authentication schemes for H.264/AVC video fall into two broad categories: (1) content-dependent also called digital signature-based authentication where the watermark can be fragile or semi-fragile (Farfoura, Horng, Guo, & Al-Haj, 2015) according to the integrity criteria, and (2) content-independent authentication in which the watermark is only fragile (Le, Nguyen, & Tran, 2014). The authentication based on fragile watermarking, also called hard authentication (Bovik, 2010;Feng, Siu, & Zhang, 2013;Zhu, Swanson, & Tewfik, 2004) is able to find the regions where the content has been modified.…”

“…Here, the basic approach, inspired by B. Le, H. Nguyen and D. Tran [12], is to shrink a video so that only frames with a recurrent vortex nerve Betti number of interest are retained in a video. Video shrinking (i.e., video frame elimination) is achieved by deleting those frames represented by gaps between occurrences of frames that yield consecutive sequences of a particular vortex nerve Betti number.…”
