The Continental intercalary groundwater is highly sought for its water as resources hugely mobilized in Northern Sahara. A very high flow rate and output pressure characterizes this groundwater. It amounts from 50 to 400 l.s -1 for the flow, and from 5 to 40 bar for pressure. A survey of the Northern Sahara Aquifer System was essential to prove the existence of this potential. This energy appears into the artesian form, which remains very considerable for a very long time in most borehole. We have realized that this energy is immense, as well as the expanded volume of the groundwater, and the importance of its use in agriculture. Unfortunately, this potential remains untapped to this day and the energy of this water is completely neglected. Several turbo generator and/or inverted pump (PATs) integration tests were undergone. The new concept of reflection with respect to the environment and sustainable development has led us to structure our work towards the extension of this potential in order to extract the exploitable energy.Keywords: Albian, Continental Intercalary, borehole, Northern Sahara, Turbo generator. RESUMENEl agua subterránea intercalar continental es muy buscada para sus aguas como recursos movilizados en el Sahara del Norte. Un caudal muy alto y una presión de salida caracterizan esta agua subterránea, la cual, es de 50 a 400 l.s -1 para el flujo, y de 5 a 40 bar para la presión. Una encuesta del Sistema Acuífero del Sahara Septentrional fue esencial para probar la existencia de este potencial. Esta energía aparece en la forma artesiana, la cual permanece considerablemente durante mucho tiempo en la mayoría del pozo.. Nos hemos dado cuenta de que esta energía es inmensa, así como el volumen expandido de las aguas subterráneas, y la importancia de su uso en la agricultura. Desafortunadamente, este potencial permanece sin explotar hasta el día de hoy y la energía de esta agua es completamente desperdiciada. Se realizaron varios ensayos de integración de turbo-generador y / o de bomba invertida (PATs). El nuevo concepto de reflexión con respecto al medio ambiente y el desarrollo sostenible nos ha llevado a estructurar nuestro trabajo para extraer la energía explotable.

On Energy Management Control of a PV-Diesel-ESS Based Microgrid in a Stand-Alone Context

This paper deals with the energy management control of a PV-Diesel-ESS-based microgrid in a stand-alone context. In terms of control, an Isolated Mode Control (IMC) strategy based on a resonant regulator is proposed. In Parallel Mode Control (PMC) conditions, the diesel generator (DG) is controlled to operate at its nominal power. In this context, a supervisory algorithm optimizing the power flow between the microgrid's various components ensures switching between the two modes for different possible scenarios. To prove the effectiveness of the proposed control strategies, the energy management control (EMC) is tested first using a standard state of charge (SOC) profile emulating the microgrid different states. Then real data are used to simulate the load and solar radiations. An experimental validation on a reduced scale test bench is carried out to prove the feasibility and the effectiveness of the proposed energy management control strategies.

Generation of bioethanol from common date by-products, Teggaza and Lebghel in Southern Algeria

Date by-products constitute the principal food for the oasis populations in Middle East and North Africa. Dates contents consist of 70 to 80% of reducing sugars, and do not require an intensive energy and labour for thermophysical pre-treatment. They can serve as a good feedstock for bioethanol generation through fermentation and distillation. Algeria is among the top sixth producers of dates in the world with more than 250,000 tons/year; from these, more than 30% can be lost for different reasons and may be of low quality. In the laboratory, after an alcoholic fermentation of the substrate of the date varieties, Teggaza and Lebghel (T & L) using bakery yeast at 30°C for 72 h, the distilled and rectified date juice generated the highest ethanol ( 88° and 90°) with acceptable productions of 2.5 and 2.78 mL/kg/h, and assessed scale efficiencies of 23.57 and 26.2%. This is unlike the one (ethanol; 50%) directly generated by chemical reaction using the same quantity of sugar. The efficiencies that were obtained seem satisfactory and encourage the great scaling development of bioethanol generation using date waste biomass abundant in Algerian Sahara.
