A Review on the Applications of Neutrosophic Sets

A B S T R A C TTo attain competitive advantages and promote environmental performance, a proactive approach called green supply chain management (GSCM), has been extensively employed. In this paper, we use the robust ranking technique with neutrosophic set to handle practices and performances in GSCM. We evaluate GSCM practices using the robust ranking technique in order to detect practices leading to better economic and environmental performances. We employ the neutrosophic set theory to handle vague data, imprecise knowledge, incomplete information and linguistic imprecision. The efficiency of the proposed method is evaluated by using the first case study from petroleum industry in Egypt and the second case study from manufacturing firm in China. The results display that "reverse logistics", "supplier environmental collaboration", "carbon management" are the significant in GSCM practices. Both case studies verified that our proposal could be adopted for effectiveness and improvement. Our work could help managers and decision makers to become more environmentally responsible.

In the age of mobile cloud computing, we are confronted by mobility, diversity of network access types, frequent network disconnection and poor reliability, and security with complex structures. Mobile cloud computing industry decision making is crucially important for countries or societies to enhance the effectiveness and validity of leadership, which can greatly expedite industrialized and large‐scale development. In the case of mobile cloud computing industry decision evaluation, the indispensable issue arises serious inexactness, fuzziness, and ambiguity. Single‐valued neutrosophic set, disposing the indeterminacy portrayed by truth membership T, indeterminacy membership I, and falsity membership F, is a more viable and effective means to seize indeterminacy. The main purpose of the current paper is to investigate the novel operations on single‐valued neutrosophic number (SVNN) based on Dombi Bonferroni mean (DBM) and Dombi geometric Bonferroni mean (DGBM) operator, which have the enormous advantage of high flexibility with adjustable parameters. Moreover, we employ the DBM operator to present single‐valued neutrosophic DBM (SVNDBM) operator, single‐valued neutrosophic weighted DBM (SVNWDBM) operator, single‐valued neutrosophic DGBM (SVNDGBM), operator and single‐valued neutrosophic weighted DGBM (SVNWDGBM) operator for disposing with the aggregation of SVNNs and develop two multiple attribute decision making methods based on SVNWDBM and SVNWDGBM. The validity of algorithms are illustrated by a mobile cloud computing industry decision making issue, along with the sensitivity analysis of diverse parameters on the ranking. Finally, a comparison of the developed with the existing single‐valued neutrosophic decision making methods has been executed for displaying their effectiveness.

Abstract:One of the most significant competitive strategies for organizations is sustainable supply chain management (SSCM). The vital part in the administration of a sustainable supply chain is the sustainable supplier selection, which is a multi-criteria decision-making issue, including many conflicting criteria. The valuation and selection of sustainable suppliers are difficult problems due to vague, inconsistent and imprecise knowledge of decision makers. In the literature on supply chain management for measuring green performance, the requirement for methodological analysis of how sustainable variables affect each other, and how to consider vague, imprecise and inconsistent knowledge, is still unresolved. This research provides an incorporated multi-criteria decision-making procedure for sustainable supplier selection problems (SSSPs). An integrated framework is presented via interval-valued neutrosophic sets to deal with vague, imprecise and inconsistent information that exists usually in real world. The analytic network process (ANP) is employed to calculate weights of selected criteria by considering their interdependencies. For ranking alternatives and avoiding additional comparisons of analytic network processes, the technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) is used. The proposed framework is turned to account for analyzing and selecting the optimal supplier. An actual case study of a dairy company in Egypt is examined within the proposed framework. Comparison with other existing methods is implemented to confirm the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed approach.
