Many recent researchers are working to optimize solutions in the field of Vehicular Adhoc Network. However, none of them has yet claimed that it will fulfill all the challenges of such a dynamic region. VANET in itself is a complete area of study, research and improvements. Most of the researchers and industry consortiums has given their hypothesis and solution that depends on their predefined scenarios but no complete solution has designed until yet. Through this research work, the authors concluded that bioinspired solutions can be used to integrate along with VANET for a much accurate and optimized solution. The performance of VANET depends on various scenarios and due to the unpredictable behavior of the vehicle movement, no concrete solution can be claimed as of now. We incorporated Swarm Intelligence in VANET through the Ant Colony Optimization algorithm and found that the performance of VANET has enhanced by avoiding the entire congested path as it senses the pheromone trail. We have implemented and tested the results using open source software like Instant Veins, Simulation of Urban MObility (SUMO) and MObility model generator for VEhicular networks (MOVE). SUMO has used for testing the traffic simulation and MOVE is used to design model. Python for the script. The OSM used to take a map of Dehradun city. When we performed the experimental setup and found that the result confirms in reducing the traveling time of the nodes, which makes nodes faster and managed even it helps in saving the hydrocarbon fuels. During our approach, we have devised our own algorithm that has improvised the present Ant Colony Optimization algorithm and has concluded that the average traveling time of the nodes minimized through our approach.

VANET yang merupakan bagian dari MANET adalah teknologi yang memungkinkan komunikasi nirkabel antar berbagai kendaraan yang bergerak atau antara kendaraan dengan unit komunikasi yang terdapat di sepanjang jalan. VANET dikembangkan untuk mendukung ITS dalam meningkatkan keselamatandi jalan raya dan efisiensi lalu lntas. Jaringan ad-hoc ini juga dirancang untuk memungkinkan pertukaran pesan-pesan peringatan antar kendaraan untuk meningkatkan keselamatan penumpang dan informasi-informasi lain terkait dengan aplkasi dan layanan VANET. Untuk mewujudkan hal tersebut, ada beberapa hal yang perlu dipertimbangkan supaya VANET dapat beroperasi denganbaik. Hal-hal tersebut antara lain masalah keterbatasan bandwidth, keamanan, skalabilitas, protokol kendali akses media (MAC) dan mekanisme routing. Ada beberapa karakteristik khusus dari VANET yang perlu diperhatikan oleh protokol routing, antara lain : mobilitas node yang tinggi, jumlah dan kepadatana node yang tidak tetap, dan topologi jaringan yang terus berubah. Diperlukan protokol routing tertentu untuk mewujudkan komunikasi yang handal, kontinyu dan tanpa batas antar node pada VANET. Secara garis besar, protokol routing pada VANET dikelompokkan menjadi dua: kelompok protokol yang berdasarkan posisi kendaraan dan kelompok yang berdasar pada topologi jaringan. Tulisan ini akan membahas mengenai protokol routing DSR, AODV, TORA dan menjelaskan bagaimana ketiga protokol reaktif ini menjalankan mekanisme routing pada VANET. Kelebihan dan kekurangan dari ketiga protokol tersebut juga akan dianalisis dengan didukung oleh beberapa hasil simulasi dari penelitian-penelitian yang telah dilakukan sebelumnya.

Abstract-Greedy routing in VANETs requires some geographical informations, such as the source location and the destination location. The first one could be obtained using some localization devices like GPS receiver. However, the second one is provided by a location service. This later has a high overhead especially if it is implemented over V2V (vehicle to vehicle) communications. Many location services are well known as HLS, RLS, GLS.This paper is interested in reducing this overhead by using some Road Side Units (RSU) already deployed along the roads. We propose here a location service called "improved Reactive Location Service (iRLS)", which is an extension of the RLS service. The major difference is that RLS assumes only V2V communications and iRLS takes profit of a wireless backbone based on RSUs to catch the destination's position. This allows to reduce the overhead instead of flooding requests and also makes the communication faster since we will not have to wait to the request to reach the destination before receiving the response and then starting sending data. In our proposal, the closest RSU will reply with the actual location.In order to show the contribution of our approach, we have conducted some simulations that prove that iRLS outperforms any geographic protocol by using the V2I communications in terms of end-to-end delay which is one of the most important parameter. We considered also the ratio of packet received correctly by the destination vehicle (PDR), our protocol improves significantly this second parameter, and ensures more than 20% of packets received correctly
