A Review of Robotic Applications in Hospitality and Tourism Research

Abstract: Recently, robots have been widely adopted in the hospitality and tourism industry. Efficient robots can help hoteliers and tourism suppliers with their repetitive or manual labor. Due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, there is an increasing number of publications on robotic applications in hospitality and tourism. However, a comprehensive literature review of this realm remains lacking. Therefore, to provide a holistic view of the existing literature on robotic applications in hospitality and tou… Show more

“…The robot's height control algorithm tries to keep the human face at 65% of the image height (Y-axis). The current position of the bounding-box face in Figure 8 is marked with (1). If the camera image is 1280 × 720 pixels, the bounding-box position of the face for the image is 720•0.65 = 468 pixels.…”

“…The COVID-19 epidemic has increased robotics research, as shown through article analysis and literature gaps. The International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, International Journal of Hospitality Management, and Sustainability have contributed most to this research (Ye et al, 2022). Recent researches examined how robot looks and service context affect customers' robot utilization.…”
