The evolution of Mobile Networks and Internet of Things (IoT) architectures allows one to rethink the way smart cities infrastructures are designed and managed, and solve a number of problems in terms of human mobility. The territories that adopt the sensoring era can take advantage of this disruptive technology to improve the quality of mobility of their citizens and the rationalization of their resources. However, with this rapid development of smart terminals and infrastructures, as well as the proliferation of diversified applications, even current networks may not be able to completely meet quickly rising human mobility demands. Thus, they are facing many challenges and to cope with these challenges, different standards and projects have been proposed so far. Accordingly, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been utilized as a new paradigm for the design and optimization of mobile networks with a high level of intelligence. The objective of this work is to identify and discuss the challenges of mobile networks, alongside IoT and AI, to characterize smart human mobility and to discuss some workable solutions to these challenges. Finally, based on this discussion, we propose paths for future smart human mobility researches.

Hoy en día, los dispositivos móviles son omnipresentes en nuestra vida cotidiana. Estos dispositivos, en conjunto con Internet, nos permiten realizar prácticamente cualquier tarea, desde buscar información en la web, realizar un comentario en una red social, contactar a un amigo, participar en una clase virtualy hasta realizar compras de manera online. Con el transcurso de los años, loscelulares han ido incrementando su capacidad de cómputo. Los dispositivos móviles modernos permiten procesar y almacenar una gran cantidad de datos. Además, vienen equipados con diversos sensores que permiten capturar datos del contexto del individuo, tales como el acelerómetro, el giroscopio, el barómetro, y el sensor de luz, entre otros. Incluso es posible conocer la ubicación geográfica del dispositivo mediante el GPS que traen equipados.Los celulares han remplazado a diferentes dispositivos individuales (GPS, cámara de fotos, agenda) y se han vuelto indispensablesen nuestra vida.En particular, la capacidad de registrar y procesar datos del contexto del usuario abrió las puertas a distintas líneas de investigación y desarrollo, y puntualmente, permitió estudiar la movilidad de los usuarios. Los datos capturados por los dispositivos móviles permiten aprender los lugares por donde se mueve una persona, identificar su hogar, su lugar de trabajo, los lugares que suele visitar (como un supermercado o un gimnasio), los caminos que toma para ir de un lugar al otro, e incluso sus rutinas (en qué momentos visita cada lugar). A partir de estos datos es posible construir un perfil de movilidad del usuario, que resultaría de gran utilidad tanto en el desarrollo de aplicaciones sensibles al contexto como de ciudades inteligentes.Las utilidades y posibles aplicaciones de un perfil de estas características atrajeron el interés de la comunidad científica. Distintos autores abordaron el aprendizaje de la movilidad del usuario a partir de los datos capturados por su dispositivo móvil personal. Sin embargo, todavía existen problemáticas no abordadas o que necesitan estudiarse con mayor profundidad. Entre estos problemas se destacan: la limitación que presentan los enfoques propuestos para identificar correctamente lugares con distintas dimensiones; la inexistencia en la literatura de un conjunto de datos apto para evaluar las distintas técnicas propuestas de detección de visitas y lugares; los problemas de privacidad implicados al exponer datos sensibles como la ubicación del usuario; y la necesidad de profundizar en la predicción de movilidad,ya que los enfoques propuestos todavía no se acercan a los límites de predictibilidad teóricos establecidos.En este contexto, se propone un enfoque liviano para la construcción de perfiles de movilidad a partir de los datos recolectados por los dispositivos móviles de los usuarios. El enfoque propuesto se ejecutará íntegramente en los dispositivos móviles del usuario,evitando exponer cualquier dato sensible del usuario que comprometa su privacidad. A su vez, este enfoque busca resolver algunas de las problemáticas y limitaciones identificadas en la literatura. En particular, se propone: utilizar información geográficaexterna que permita identificar cuando el usuario está visitando lugares pequeños o lugares de grandes dimensiones; combinar múltiples predictores sencillos que permitan analizar distintos aspectos de la movilidad del usuario para mejorar la predicción; yconstruir un conjunto de datos apto para la evaluación no solo del enfoque propuesto, sino de otras técnicas propuestas en la literatura.

The explosion of advancements in artificial intelligence, sensor technologies, and wireless communication activates ubiquitous sensing through distributed sensors. These sensors are various domains of networks that lead us to smart systems in healthcare, transportation, environment, and other relevant branches/networks. Having collaborative interaction among the smart systems connects end-user devices to each other which enables achieving a new integrated entity called Smart Cities. The goal of this study is to provide a comprehensive survey of data analytics in smart cities. In this paper, we aim to focus on one of the smart cities important branches, namely Smart Mobility, and its positive ample impact on the smart cities decision-making process. Intelligent decision-making systems in smart mobility offer many advantages such as saving energy, relaying city traffic, and more importantly, reducing air pollution by offering real-time useful information and imperative knowledge. Making a decision in smart cities in time is challenging due to various and high dimensional factors and parameters, which are not frequently collected. In this paper, we first address current challenges in smart cities and provide an overview of potential solutions to these challenges. Then, we offer a framework of these solutions, called universal smart cities decision making, with three main sections of data capturing, data analysis, and decision making to optimize the smart mobility within smart cities. With this framework, we elaborate on fundamental concepts of big data, machine learning, and deep leaning algorithms that have been applied to smart cities and discuss the role of these algorithms in decision making for smart mobility in smart cities.
