A Review of Fe‐Based Amorphous and Nanocrystalline Alloys: Preparations, Applications, and Effects of Alloying Elements

Abstract: Fe-based amorphous and nanocrystalline alloys are widely used in transformers, electronic information, and aerospace applications due to their high saturation flux density (B s ), high permeability, low iron loss, and low coercivity (H c ). This article briefly introduces soft magnetic materials, gives an overview of the classification, preparation methods, soft magnetic properties, and applications of Fe-based amorphous and nanocrystalline alloys, and reviews the effects of elements such as Fe, Co, Ni, Si, B,… Show more

“…However, the competition between crack propagation and grain boundary activities under an impact environment remains unclear. Due to the requirements to achieve high saturation magnetic flux density with low losses and respond quickly to changes in external magnetic fields of the nanoscale electronics in aerospace, nanocrystalline bcc iron and its alloys with excellent soft magnetic properties have been developed and widely used [ 35 , 36 , 37 ]. The fracture failure of nanocrystalline iron has a significant effect on the reliability of nanoscale electronics.…”
