The control of low-frequency noise in buildings has become a critical issue because of the inadequate sound insulation in low frequencies (<200 Hz) for most partitions and doors. In the present study, an analytical model has been proposed to specify the relationship between the acoustic parameters such as acoustic impedance of honeycomb and the honeycomb geometry. In this regards, three materials (Polycarbonate, Polypropylene, and Polyurethane), seven angles (45°, 30°, 15°, 0°, −15°, −30°, −45°), and three cell arrangement (1 × 1, 2 × 2, and 3 × 3) were considered to find out the effect of these parameters on the sound absorption coefficient. Sound absorption in the frequency range of 1–500 Hz for angles of 45°, 30°, 15°, 0°, −15°, −30°, −45° was demonstrated using MATLAB software. A comparison of the results showed that the greater the angle’s absolute value, the more the sound absorption coefficient. By comparing all three materials’ absorption coefficient values, it was concluded that the 1 × 1 arrangement had greater absorption than the 2 × 2 and 3 × 3 arrangements. Also, the number of resonance peaks of polyurethane material for all angles was greater than the others in the same frequency range. Then, the panel with the honeycomb core of Polyurethane and 1 × 1 arrangement was recommended for cells with an internal angle of −45° in the present research case study for having more sound absorption.

To extract any information from a complex data vibration, the time-frequency technique represents a suitable tool and a better indicator of the overall asset health of a rotating machine. Fluid influences on a cracked driveshaft and dynamic analysis of a rotating Cardan shaft are discussed in this paper. The study of the forced vibration signals of the rotating Cardan shaft focused uniquely on the impact of the hydrodynamic forces near the cracked driveshaft and its transmission of power to a driven shaft. By merging each subsystem consisting of the breathing crack mechanism in a rotating shaft, the perturbation function between misaligned shafts and transient hydrodynamic forces results in a strongly nonlinear system of partial differential equations, which becomes complicated when analyzing the dynamic response of the Cardan system. In view of the complexity of the Cardan system, the instantaneous frequency identification based on synchrosqueezing wavelet transform filters is numerically used to provide a reliable indication of the rotating system equipment’s health. A conclusive dynamic analysis through the wavelet synchrosqueezing demonstrated that the Cardan joint and the hydrodynamic resistance forces have a high impact on the system’s vibration characteristics and significantly influence the transmission motion with a continuous increase of the driven shaft vibration amplitudes.

This study collects all of the existent papers in the field of acoustic transmission across multilayered plate constructions. Herewith, a comprehensive source is proposed wherein approximately 410 references are reviewed and described from the first [Formula: see text] to [Formula: see text]. In the first part, in addition to the presentation of a complete explanation about the importance of the acoustic analysis of these structures, appropriate formulations are also provided. Furthermore, an overview of the thematic correspondent is carried out. Since the type of material used in these constructions can be very important in sound insulation, the significance of this subject is remarked. The papers are then classified based on their acoustic excitation fields containing plane wave, diffuse, random, and point source. After analyzing the research approaches according to different environmental properties, the articles are ordered based on their boundaries as finite and infinite. To present reliable outcomes, it is necessary to investigate a proper theory proportional to the structure’s thickness. Herewith, this issue is also discussed in detail. The review is also expanded to focus on the different vibroacoustic solutions. Before concluding remarks, the authors' research works are presented wherein either optimization algorithms or control techniques improve the acoustic performance of these structures.
