Prediction of acoustic wave transmission features of the multilayered plate constructions: A review

Abstract: This study collects all of the existent papers in the field of acoustic transmission across multilayered plate constructions. Herewith, a comprehensive source is proposed wherein approximately 410 references are reviewed and described from the first [Formula: see text] to [Formula: see text]. In the first part, in addition to the presentation of a complete explanation about the importance of the acoustic analysis of these structures, appropriate formulations are also provided. Furthermore, an overview of the t… Show more

“…The studies show that although some researches based on different techniques for sound characteristics of the viscoelastic sandwich plates have been presented, there is no approach on the STL analysis of a sandwich doubly curved construction with a VM. The review of these papers (Zarastvand et al 2021a, 2021b, 2021c) can confirm this claim. The main purpose of this study is to cover this gap by providing a viscoelastic model to determine the acoustic response of this type of sandwich systems.…”

“…However, the imposed wheel-rail force did not take into account the wheel non-circularity. Meanwhile, in order to deeply analyze the transmission characteristics of wheel noise, inspirations from the acoustic characteristics of shell structure, 13,14 cylinder structure, 15 and plate structure 16 can be used for references.…”

“…Conversely, the ductility of metal compensates for the brittleness of ceramic. The history of the FGM and its applications are detailed in Jha et al 3 More details on the theories of modeling and analysis of functionally graded plates and shells can be found in Thai and Kim 4 and Thai et al 5 Besides, a summary of literature review on vibration characteristics of plates can be found in Zarastvand et al 6,7 Last but not least, sound propagation analysis of plate structures is well documented in Ghafouri et al 8 and Talebitooti et al 9 Additionally, the FGM's modeling and analysis were also reviewed by Birman and Byrd. 10 FGM, with the advantages listed above, has been attracting the interest of many researchers, with various theories and techniques applied.…”
