Abstract: Three new, pneumatically activated needle holders have been described, suitable for microsurgical and vascular procedures, particularly in magnified fields. Suture techniques have been described and the results of experiments in homotransplanted stomachs and small-vessel surgery reported.

“…In 76% of the patients histology report was normal in the pyramidal lobe whereas the histological report of the thyroidectomy showed colloid in 80% of the cases. 3,4,[12][13][14] The increased detection rate in our study could be due to the peroperative use of magnifying loupe and following a standardized approach with specific attention to dissection of embryological remnants like pyramidal lobe. Another reason for the increased detection rate could be dissection and removal of pyramidal and its attaching fibrous stalk together.…”

“…The disease which usually affect the thyroid gland are hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, autoimmune thyroiditis, Graves' disease, of which hypothyroidism due to iodine deficiency is the commonest 4 . Medical treatment is not sufficient to manage thyroid disorder specially in case of malignancy and when respiratory distress, dysphagia are present due to thyroid disease 5 . Possible complication during thyroid surgery are hemorrhage, hoarseness of voice, disturbance of phonation, laryngeal spasm, respiratory obstruction, pneumothorax 6 .…”

Recurrent laryngeal nerve: RLN or inferior laryngeal nerve is a branch of vagus nerve arising at the root of the neck and recoursing back into the neck, after looping around the subclavian artery on the right side and the ligamentum arteriosum on the left side [26]. RLN supplies all the intrinsic laryngeal muscles except the cricothyroid.…”
