Introduction: Among the specialties, the maxillofacial surgery is one in which the professional is more exposed to accidents and complications. Thus, once the surgery is indicated, it is important to have a detailed surgical planning based on the physical examination and imaging examinations, in order to avoid iatrogenies. Objective: To report an atypical and rare case of suture needle fracture aftersuturing in minor oral surgery. Case report: Female patient, with the presence of a suture needle in parapharyngeal space, removed by surgical procedure under general anesthesia. Conclusion: The patient progresses well, without complications. Thus, if a fracture occurs, secondary complications can be avoided by promptly sending the patient to a specialized hospital to prevent the movement offragments in deeper tissue regions.
