A Proposed Model Expert System for Disease Diagnosis in Children to Make Decisions in First Aid

Abstract: Children have a weaker immune system than adults. They are susceptible to disease. Therefore, this study proposes an expert system model of disease diagnosis in children. We develop expert strategies to meet the needs of alternative diagnostic tools in making decisions and first aid for children suffering from illness. The development of an expert system model for diagnosing children's diseases using forwarding chaining based on If-Then as an inference engine. We chose the forward chaining method because it ha… Show more

“…Forward chaining is an inference system that begins with a number of facts that are known from the premise or input (IF), which includes facts, and ends with one or more conclusions (THEN [17]. As shown in Figure 2, the Forward Chaining method is a search strategy that begins with a set of facts or data and looks for solutions to the problem in the data.…”

“…The French physician and botanist Dr Franc ois Bossier de Sauvages deLacroix developed a categorization of 10 distinct classes of diseases, which were further divided into 2400 unique diseases (Jetté et al, 2010). Recognizing the importance of disease classification, the first International Statistical Congress helding Brussels in 1853 appointed Jacob Marc d'Espine and William Farr to develop a system of classifying causes of mortality that could be used across borders and languages (Helling et al, 2019;Henderi et al, 2022;Kusuma et al, 2019;Purba & Sondang, 2022;World Health Organitation, 2015).…”
