The paper defines and demonstrates the use of a framework for developing a DSS for crisis management. The framework is based on the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) and the quality function deployment (QFD) technique. The AHP is used for defining and assigning relative weights for a comprehensive list of requirements that covers all expected crises of a crisis management centre. The QFD is used for defining and assigning relative weights for design components that support the defined requirements. An example of applying the framework for developing a conceptual design of DSS in a crisis management centre is demonstrated.Reference to this paper should be made as follows: Kabeil, M.M. The chapter presents a framework for incorporating BDT in a traditional conceptual design of NCMC. The updated conceptual design is validated using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) technique. The results show that each requirement of national crisis is supported by a set of integrated modules of the conceptual design in a balanced way. The modules of the highest contribution in the design are the modules most related to BDT. The steps required for implementing the conceptual design are given.

Crisis management relates to both PR and organizational communication, thus dealing with several situations that may threaten the reputation and survival of the business. The chapter argues that promoting PR, organizational communication, and crisis management has the potential to increase organizational performance and gain high reputation in modern society.
