A power efficient genetic algorithm for resource allocation in cloud computing data centers

Abstract: Abstract-One of the main challenges in cloud computing is to increase the availability of computational resources, while minimizing system power consumption and operational expenses. This article introduces a power efficient resource allocation algorithm for tasks in cloud computing data centers. The developed approach is based on genetic algorithms which ensure performance and scalability to millions of tasks. Resource allocation is performed taking into account computational and networking requirements of ta… Show more

“…For each test, 110 VM allocation requests are generated, each of them characterized by three parameters: (%CPU, %RAM, %Disk) uniformly distributed in the range [10,25]. We compared the effectiveness of the following five different algorithms introduced in the previous sections: 1) MODA-R; 2) MODA-A; 3) A-ITRA; 4) Fuzzy Mamdani; 5) Fuzzy Sugeno.…”

“…In starting the reliability of any virtual machine is full means 100% and if any machine produces the result within time limit then its reliability increases but in other case if it fails to produce the result within time then its reliability decreases and when any machine's reliability goes below the threshold then it is removed. Giuseppe Portaluri, Stefano Giordano, Dzmitry Kliazovich, Bernab´e Dorronsoro [11] proposes a power efficient resource allocation algorithm for user submitted tasks. The algorithm is based on the Genetic algorithm.…”
