The current curriculum started in 2007 when the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Utrecht University (FVMU) adopted the Bachelor's/ Master's curriculum. The Bachelor's and Master's programmes are separate and have different learning objectives. Currently, the Bachelor's degree is a prerequisite to start the Master of Veterinary Medicine programme. At the end of the 3-year Bachelor's programme, the student has knowledge and insight in normal anatomy and physiological and pathophysiological processes; is aware of diagnostic methods and the possibilities of intervention for individual and groups of animals and can use these results in clinical reasoning; and can prepare a therapy and intervention plan. Besides these veterinary competencies, the student also has knowledge and insight in legal, ethical, and One Health aspects; has an academic attitude and solves problems with evidence-based solutions; can communicate clearly and effectively; is capable of effective and multidisciplinary cooperation; and reflects on and takes responsibility for her or his

Interprofessional Care: an Approach to Enhance Care for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders by Enhancing Interprofessional Competencies

Interprofessional collaborative practice is an essential component of healthcare delivery, to address the many health conditions that require a multidisciplinary approach to care. The formation of an interprofessional team that can work together utilizing interprofessional competencies is needed to perform the function seamlessly. Interprofessional education is essential to develop a “practice-ready workforce”. This study is aimed at designing and validating an interprofessional education module to integrate and improve interprofessional competencies among students of healthcare professions to care for children with autism. This quasi experimental study was done among 49 students from four different healthcare professions courses. The module was prepared using scientific methods and implemented among the selected healthcare professions students. Data collection was conducted using questionnaires and an observation checklist. Using the mean, frequency and percentage, and t-test, data were analysed. There was a significantly noticeable increase in the knowledge (pre-test mean 9.43 ± 2.92; post-test mean 12.27 ± 2.98) and competency (pre-test mean 76.98 ± 7.55; post-test mean 91.88 ± 5.31) scores with a moderately positive correlation between knowledge and competencies (p ≥ 0.05). The competency observation also showed an increase in the level of competency attained by the students. The study also aligned with the promotion of Sustainable Developmental Goals 3 “good health and well-being”, 4 “quality education” and 17 “partnerships for the goals”. The preparation and application of the module is essential to augment the interprofessional competencies of students. The study showed that the prepared module on interprofessional care for children with autism was successful in improving the interprofessional competencies of the healthcare professions students. Colleges and universities are important places for cultivating talents for education and economic construction, and they bear the important responsibility of arming young college students with socialist core values. It is of great practical significance to strengthen research on the innovation of core value education and the cultivation path for college students. In this paper, the mean drift clustering integration module and density-sensitive spectral clustering module of the spectral clustering algorithm have been improved. Then, the improved spectral clustering algorithm and word co-occurrence model are combined to extract the keywords of value cultivation among college students. The keywords of college students’ values are analyzed, and the rankings of the distance from “values” among the college students are health, family, harmony, responsibility, love, harmony, patriotism, friendliness, and independence, in descending order. The inter-word distances are 0.645, 0.648, 0.716, 0.745, 0.795, 0.799, 0.816, 0.864, 0.865. In the test of difference in values, the difference in values of different genders is shown in the view of friendship, love, family, equality and freedom, harmony, and human attitude, and the p-value of all the above dimensions is less than 0.05. Colleges and universities should start with the educational environment, the process of student growth, and the standardization of values education to actively promote the cultivation of values among college students.
