“…Scarce pyroxenites from Puy Beau nit (French Massif Central, FMC) have been explained as segregates from melts unrelated to their Tertiary alkaline hosts; a possib le linkage with granulites of the lower crust is mentioned (Downes and Dupuy,1 987). They have been recently related to a Permian underplating event in the upper mantle-lower crust boundary (Femenias et al ., 2003).
