Abstract:A novel norditerpenoid alkaloid, macrorhynine C (1), together with three known compounds, was isolated from Aconitum macrorhynchum. The structure of the new alkaloid was elucidated on the basis of spectral analyses as (1alpha,6alpha,16beta)-3-hydroxy-8-acetyloxy-13-hydroxy-1,6,16-trimethoxy-4-(methoxymethyl)-19-ene-aconitan-14-yl 4-methoxybenzoate (1). The novel compound was found to contain the rare C(19) = N azomethine group. Compounds 2-4 were obtained from this species for the first time.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
