A Novel Lightweight Main Memory Database for Telecom Network Performance Management System

Abstract: Today telecom network are growing complex. Although the amount of network performance data increased dramatically, telecom network operators require better performance on network performance data collection and analysis. Database is the important component in modern network management model. Since main memory database (MMDB) store data in main physical memory and provide very high-speed access, MMDB can suffice the requirements on data intensive and real time response in network performance management system. … Show more

“…The layered architecture realizes scheduling and monitoring of the service mode and is convenient for people being involved in management, operation and maintenance to implement management. Each layer is relatively independent, which simplifies systematic complexity, realizes flexible configuration of the system and lays a favorable foundation for stable operation and maintenance of service job [23][24][25]. The overall structure of the system is shown in Figure 2.…”

“…Because relational database is based on strict mathematical logic, and easy to use, in a fairly long time it is considered to be an ideal database model. But with the improved requirements of data management, database has changed to adapt to diversity of data structure such as MMDB [22] ,INMDB [23] .To extract data information from web pages and store the information in a semi-structured database which has rich semantics is useful for data management. This paper is aimed to data extraction and integration of semi-structured database--INMDB.…”

“…The Input/Output (I/O) operations on main memory are much faster than the operations on physical disks. It is therefore a good choice that uses the In-Memory Database (IMDB) to gain high query speed [1]. The Oracle Timesten (TT) is a high performance and reliable IMDB [2].…”
