“…The limit of detection (LOD, S/N = 3) was calculated to be 0.4 U/mL CA 19-9. As listed in Table S2, a lower LOD was obtained in the developed method compared with that of the reported methods, including photothermal immunoassay (0.83 U/mL), immuno-chromatographic (5.0 U/mL), and CL immunoassay (2 U/mL), and slightly higher with that of the previously reported methods including label-free electrochemical immunosensors with the enhanced catalytic currents (0.23 U/mL, 50 μL) and commercial ELISA kit (0.1 U/mL, 50 μL), but these two methods need large volume of target/sample. Importantly, the LOD obtained is much lower than the cutoff value of 37 U/mL CA 19-9 for diagnosis of pancreatic cancer, which has 69% sensitivity and 85% specificity .…”

“…11 Advanced nanomaterials have a significant role in the development of electrochemical immunosensors. 12 In this regard, wrinkled fibrous nano-silica (WFNS) have attracted the attention of electrochemical immunoassay devices. 13 WFNS nanomaterials have been noted for their easy synthesis, adjustable particle size, large pore volume, excellent mechanical stability, low toxicity, complete biocompatibility, adjustable pore size, and unique large surfaces.…”
