A Novel Derivation Predicting Survival After Primary Tumor Resection in Stage IV Colorectal Cancer: Validation of a Prognostic Scoring Model and an Online Calculator to Provide Individualized Survival Estimation

Abstract: The prognostic scoring model provides good prognostic stratification of survival after primary tumor resection and may be a useful tool to predict survival after primary tumor resection. See Video Abstract at http://links.lww.com/DCR/A330.

“…These are consistent with prognostic variables identified in several previous studies 14–17 . These variables were similarly predictive of survival in our previous publication on primary tumor resection for mCRC 18,19 . The presence of lung metastases was not found to be an adverse prognostic indicator in our study ( p = 0.757).…”

“…Early detection apps have also been created for cancer survivors with the aim of detecting tumor recurrence in the colon and rectum 56,77 , breast 40,54 , and thyroid 66 , as well as in Hodgkin's lymphoma 63 and pediatric patients 9 . In this context, the largest number J o u r n a l P r e -p r o o f of studies on the use of apps for cancer prevention was published in Asia 28,33,45,49,54,56,65 , an area with one of the highest cancer mortality rates in the world 78 .…”
