“…Secondly, as shown here and elsewhere (e.g. Hsu et al, 2006;Ventura-López et al, 2016) some of these genes are differentially expressed. Thus, if a gene is predominantly expressed in a tissue not included in the analysis, it may not be found.…”

“…Alignment of the CHH mature peptide sequences of L. vannamei . GenBank accession numbers: CHH‐A (AAR11295.1) (Lago‐Lestón et al., 2007); LV‐CHH (ACT76341), but without the 45 amino acids of the intron that were translated and included in the peptide (Wanlem et al., 2011), LvCHH (ADL27417) (Liu et al ., 2014), MIH‐like (AAC60516) (Sun, 1994), CHH‐B1 (AAN86056.1) (Camacho‐Jiménez et al., 2015; Lago‐Lestón et al., 2007), LvITP (ABN11282) (Tiu, He, & Chan, 2007), CHH‐B2 (AAN86057.1) (Camacho‐Jiménez, Sánchez‐Castrejón, et al, 2017; Lago‐Lestón et al., 2007) and LvCHH_PO_EF (AJK31205.1) (Ventura‐López et al, 2016) [Colour figure can be viewed at wileyonlinelibrary.com]…”

“…As shown in Figure 6, the L. vannamei CHH peptides are highly conserved in the first 40 amino acids of the N‐terminal sequence, except for LvCHH_PO_ES (GenBank accession No. AJK31205.1) that was classified as a type‐I CHH family member but had characteristics of the type‐II CHH family (Ventura‐López et al, 2016). The authors obtained this sequence from the annotation results of the contigs of sequenced SSH libraries from juvenile females’ eyestalk and from adult female gonads that had pericardial tissue attached to it.…”

“…A recent report characterized a novel CHH transcript and gene in the shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei that was identified as a type I CHH and found to be expressed in other organs in this shrimp [33]. CHH has also been shown to be present in granular cells and hemocytes [34].…”
