A new method of evaluating robust power system security against uncertainties

Abstract: The rapid expansion of renewable energy (RE) generation is leading to severe problems related to the reliability of network operation. Power system security is threatened by increased uncertainties of RE outputs and reduced controllable resources. Therefore, it is important to evaluate the robustness of the system controllability in order to preserve system security against uncertainties of RE outputs. We refer to the robustness of the system in this context as ‘robust power system security’. This paper propos… Show more

“…If the power supply of an energy grid is not sufficient to meet demand, PM is low, which increases the risk of grid failure or system collapse. PM is a crucial measure used by managers and engineers to assess the capacity and reliability of an energy system, and it is an essential factor in ensuring efficient and sustainable energy production and consumption [9].…”

“…[5][6][7][8][9][10][11] We proposed the concept of robust power system security (RS) to maintain security level of a power system against a set of uncertain parameters. [12][13][14] In addition, we formulated a bilevel optimization problem to evaluate RS feasibility region with regard to worst-case feasibility under uncertainties. 15,16 Transient stability (TS) is an important issue in maintaining power system security, and many studies were conducted in this connection.…”
