“…In the present study, detailed information about the fruit and seed macro and micromorphologies of Iberis taxa natively found in Turkey is presented. According to previous studies on the morphology of Iberis (Boissier 1867, Hedge 1965, Vural et al 2012, Oskay 2017, Yıldırımlı 2018) important descriptive morphological features include petal colour and dimensions, inflorescense type, leaf shapes and dimensions, stem and pedicel indumentum, fruit and seed shape and their dimensions. The dehiscent fruit of Iberis taxa are generally ovate to obovate, rounded below, deeply emarginate above, winged and 2-seeded (Boissier 1867, Hedge 1965).…”

“…Plant specimens used for this study were collected from different regions of Turkey. The author carried out field studies in many parts of Turkey in 2017-2020, but also some collections of other researchers and some herbarium specimens were taken into consideration as listed in Table 1 and 3. Relevant literature (Boissier 1867, Hedge 1965, Vural et al 2012, Oskay 2017, Yıldırımlı 2018 were used for the identification of Iberis taxa. Iberis umbellata, a cultivated species which was reported only from İstanbul, Turkey (Mutlu 2012) was not collected and/or evaluated; I. attica and I. spruneri were treated as two separate species instead of included in I. carnosa.…”
