A new family of non‐isolated PWM DC–DC converter with soft switching

Abstract: In this study, a new family of soft-switching pulse-width-modulated (PWM) converters with a lossless passive snubber is introduced. The switch is turned on under zero-current switching and turned off under zero-voltage switching and all diodes turn on and off under soft switching conditions. The proposed snubber consists of two resonant inductors a resonant capacitor and three diodes which can be applied to all non-isolated DC-DC converters. A buck converter with the proposed snubber is analysed and to verify … Show more

“…In the switching converters, the size and the weight of the reactive components should be downgraded to reduce the costs of the converter [10], [11]. To achieve this, the operation should be on high switching frequency [12]; therefore, in high-frequency hard-switched converters, the losses of switching and the EMI are increased, resulting in lower efficiency in comparison with the soft switched converters due to the sudden changes of voltage and current of the switches [11], [13]. To overcome these drawbacks, various passive [14], [15] or active [16], [17] soft switching techniques are proposed.…”

“…However, the addition of numerous components has resulted in a complicated circuit, as well as a decrease in efficiency in the aforementioned converter [14]. A flyback converter can be merged with another layout, and voltage gain can be attained by altering the turn ratio of the connected inductor through a linked inductor [15,16].…”

“…From Fig. 3, the type 1 devices perform two detection levels and a Owing to the energy-saving topic, many researches put much emphasis on the power conversion efficiency [6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13] and standby power losses of converter [14,15]. However, some PDs have low power modes or standby modes and for this reason it may be removed by the PSE.…”
