A new electronically tunable current mode universal filter using MO-CCCII

Abstract: A new electronically tunable universal current mode biquad filter structure employing three multiple output current controlled conveyors (MOCCCII) and two grounded capacitors is presented. The proposed filter offers the following advantageous features: low input impedance and high output impedance-a desirable property of current mode filters; realization of low pass, band pass, high pass, notch, and all pass; no matching constraint; low sensitivity performance and use of grounded capacitors suitable for integr… Show more

“…The second active element used in this frequency filter is current-controlled current conveyor of the second generation (CCCII) practically implemented using a universal conveyor UCC [15], which is in [19,20] referred to as a double output current-controlled current conveyor of the second generation (DO-CCCII). If the CCCII has more than two outputs, it is called the multiple output current-controlled current conveyor of the second generation (MO-CCCII) [21,22]. Controlling of this active element is realized using value of resistor R x , which is used to modify the intrinsic resistance of this active element.…”

“…Operational transresistance amplier (OTRA) has emerged as an alternate current mode analog building block [1,2] since it inherits all the advantages offered by other current mode building blocks such as current conveyor (CC) [3][4][5][6], operational transconductance amplier (OTA) [7], current differencing buffered amplier (CDBA) [8], differential voltage current conveyor (DVCC) [9]. e input terminals of OTRA are internally grounded, thereby eliminating parasitic capacitances at the input.…”

“…Low-voltage operation and electronic adjustment of frequency characteristics are the current requirement for realising analogue filters and an endeavour of achieving these goals, thus gaining a significant research effort (Laoudias & Psychalinos, 2012;Pandey, Paul, & Jain, 2009;Rajput & Jamuar, 2002;Sánchez-Sinencio & Andreou, 1999;Vittoz, 1995;Yan & Sánchez-Sinencio, 2000). Companding filters are an interesting subclass of analogue filters with potential for low-voltage operation and electronic tuning capabilities (Tsividis, 1995;Tsividis, Gopinathan, & Toth, 1990).…”
