Abstract-In this paper an extensive review of AF's has been presented to give a general viewpoint on this wide-ranging and rapidly developing topic. Large number of configurations for AF are presented here to compensate harmonic current, unbalance current, neutral current and reactive power. As there is a significant reduction in cost of both semiconductor devices and signal-processing devices and which makes more frequent use and selection of APF with the required features.

Resumo-É cada vez maior a preocupação com a qualidade da energia elétrica tanto do ponto de vista do consumidor quanto da concessionária. Um dos grandes problemas encontrados é o desequilíbrio de correntes trifásicas devido à utilização de cargas monofásicas, bifásicas ou trifásicas desequilibradas em sistemas trifásicos de potência. Para eliminar esse desequilíbrio é necessária a identificação da parcela de corrente de seqüência negativa presente no sistema e sua eliminação. A injeção das correntes de compensação via conversores estáticos operando em PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) é uma das soluções aplicadas. Esta solução exige o cálculo em tempo real da componente instantânea de seqüência negativa, que será utilizada para a obtenção da referência de corrente do conversor. Neste trabalho, um novo método é proposto para a extração em tempo real da componente da corrente de seqüência negativa, apresentando um bom desempenho em comparação com os outros métodos existentes. O desempenho de um compensador completo é verificado via simulação numérica, utilizando o software MATLAB (Simulink-Power System Blockset), através de um conversor do tipo fonte de tensão operando em PWM, incluindo as malhas de controle de corrente do lado CA e da tensão no barramento CC. 1 Palavras-Chave-Cargas desbalanceadas, Detecção de seqüência negativa, Filtros Ativos

This article analyzes the inefficiencies present in four wire electrical systems where linear unbalanced loads are connected. The new reference currents are proposed for the selective compensation of the inefficiencies using a three-legs shunt active power converter. The positive-, negative-and zero-sequence components of voltages and currents in load terminals determine the compensating currents that cancel the inefficient power flows. A new method for the control of the voltage unbalances in the split DC bus is proposed. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate how the proposed compensating currents improve efficiency in systems with voltage asymmetries and current unbalances.
