A New Class of Boronic Acid‐Derived Amphiphile‐Based Gel Emulsions Capable of Entrapping and Releasing Vitamin B12 and Doxorubicin

Abstract: In this work, two boronic acid based amphiphiles, Sodium salt of 2-amidodecylpyridine-5-boronic acid (SADPB) and Sodium salt of 2-amidododecylpyridine-5-boronic acid (SADDPB) have been synthesized and their gel-emulsion property in organic solvents were investigated. The good gelation ability of the amphiphiles was confirmed by low minimum gelation concentration (MGC) and high gelation number (N gel ) values. Theoretical study established that introduction of amide linkage in the amphiphilic structure dismantl… Show more

“…The maximum G ′ and G ″ independent frequency values of the glycolipid emulsions are shown in Table . From this, the increasing order of tolerance to the external force of glycolipid emulsions is 2a-3 < 1c-3 < 2b-3 < 2a-1 < 1c-1 < 2b-1 ∼ 2c-9 < 2c-7 < 2c-5 < 2c-3 . This indicates that with an increase in ϕ w value the tolerance to the external force of each glycolipid emulsion was decreased.…”

“…Generally, the emulsion droplet size has a linear relationship with emulsion stability . Here, DLS and CLSM experiments were employed to measure the emulsion droplet size. , The multiple scattering effect in DLS measurements of emulsion samples was reduced by dilution with sunflower oil when ϕ w ≤ 5 and dilution with water when ϕ w > 5. Obtained droplet size distributions of the emulsions and corresponding average droplet sizes are shown in Table and Figure S3, respectively.…”
