A New Approach for Road‐Vehicle Vibration Simulation

Abstract: A new approach for road-vehicle vibration simulation is proposed and demonstrated feasible by testing with three express-road vehicle-vibration records, that is, record A, two-wheel electric bicycle, 80% loaded, traveling on urban road; record B, median van, 50% loaded, traveling on urban road; and record C, minivan, 80% loaded, traveling on urban road too. This method decomposes the original signal into a series of approximate Gaussianvibration segments and a shock segment with high kurtosis by moving crest f… Show more

“…The key limitation is that the simulated Gaussian vibration cannot reconstruct the shock events (much bigger amplitude and short duration) buried in the vibration, which will lead to inaccurate reliability evaluation of cushion packaging . Accordingly, several improved simulation techniques have been proposed and developed as follows, and the detail introduction and comments of each method have been presented in our earlier study already, which will not be repeated here. Time replication Two‐way split spectral Three‐way split spectral Shock on random Kurtosis control Modulated RMS distribution Wavelet decomposition …”

“… Simulation of road vibrationThe excitation from vibrator is Gaussian stationary, which is different from the road vibrations. To accurately achieve optimized packaging, it is very necessary to improve accuracy of the simulation Accelerated random vibration testTo evaluate the fatigue damage, the tests using the PSD from standards or road vibration data are carried out, which usually costs a long time.…”
