A modified control strategy for parallel hybrid electric vehicles equipped with continuously variable transmission

Abstract: Abstract. This paper aims to establish a control strategy for parallel hybrid electric vehicles equipped with full-toroidal Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). First, the advantages of CVT are elucidated. Afterwards, a modi ed control strategy on the base of Baseline static Control Strategy (BCS) is proposed. Employing this strategy, in some moments, the engine operates in its fuel-optimal point to decrease the vehicle Fuel Consumption (FC). It is demonstrated that the modi cations in BCS are applicable … Show more

“…The studies on HEV energy management strategies have been mainly focused on optimizing the strategies for fuel economy [27], [28], [29], [30], [31]. To date, little attention has been paid to modifications of HEV energy management strategies to reduce the engine emitted noises.…”

“…Long and Nhan (2012) minimized the vehicle FC, emissions, and total production cost by optimizing the EACS parameters and the size of the HEV components. Delkhosh et al. (2016) proposed a modification of the EACS with the aim of minimizing the vehicle FC by running the engine at the fuel-optimal points.…”
