A Mobile Agent-Based Technique for Medical Monitoring (Supports of Patients with Diabetes)

Abstract: Telemedicine is a particularly useful means to optimize the quality of care by fast medical exchanges that benefit patients whose state of health requires an appropriate and fast response, regardless of their geographic location. In this paper, the authors propose a mobile agent based architecture (DiabMAS) for remote medical monitoring of diabetic patients on an outpatient basis using mobile devices (laptops, PDAs, etc ...) by exploring the new operating Mobile system, Android. DiabMAS is a multi-agent system… Show more

“…TOOLS USED To use of mobile agent's techniques, the system must have a mobility framework for all of the agent modes, including the navigation model. For the lifecycle model, we need services to create, destroy, start, suspend, and stop, etc., agents [25]. JADE (Java Agent Development Environment) [26], [27] is a software Framework to be run under Java Environment with a flexible infrastructure.…”

“…The idea of interconnecting physicians with patients anywhere, anytime, and over heterogeneous devices was proposed by Bouchemal et al [ 9 ]. The system was implemented over the Java Agent development environment with Light weight extensible Agent platform—JADE-LEAP platform and deployed the Ubiquitous Mobile Agent (UMA), the Device Agents (DevA), and the Patient Agents (PatA) through the cloud, in order to alert the physician or to receive health status information on its behalf.…”

“…Chaouch et al [20] analyzed mobile agent-based structures DiabMAS (Diabetes Multi-Agent System) for the remote clinical assessment of diabetic patients. The argument for deploying mobile agents is to reduce traffic by assigning agents to locations where activities can be completed and message transmissions are closed, thus reducing network stress.…”
