“…It acts as a bridge between the upper and lower levels with the aim of extending the upper-level ontology based on a prescribed process, and providing the resources required to be extended by domain-specific ontologies. A first version of this level was introduced in [9]; this paper consolidates and extends such initial version using the results obtained in our systematic mapping [11].
