“…For the purposes of the example described here, the matching was done manually. However, Toll et al (1993) describe a method of assigning a similarity measure to pairs of soil descriptions. Such a measure can provide input to a clustering algorithm to encode the strata in all the boreholes on a site for input to the grammatical inference program.…”
