A methodological framework for integrated planning in the protection and development of natural resource areas in Serbia - a case study of spatial plans for special purpose areas for protected natural areas

“…Six strategies emerged as major prerequisites to achieve full and active community participation in tourism planning associated with protected areas are: public awareness and education; capacity building; creation of linkages; use of appropriate participation methods; involvement of appropriate local community organisations and decentralisation and coordination of relevant management organisations" [9].
