This study aims to examine the effects of flipped learning on L2 students’ overall academic achievements through meta-analysis. Forty studies (e.g., journal articles, M.A/Ph.D. theses and conference papers) on ‘flipped classroom’, ‘flipped learning’ and ‘academic achievement’ were included in this meta-analysis study. The data was analyzed by using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis Software. The random effects model was used in analyzing the overall effect size and the heterogeneity of the studies included in this meta-analysis. The results revealed that flipped learning has statistically significant effect on L2 learners’ academic achievements (g=1.303) compared to traditional learning approaches. This result does not differ according to publication type, educational level and four basic language skills and sub-skills, but it differs according to sample size of the selected studies.

The development of a hybrid learning model based on OBS is needed in a special learning of learning at a distance. This study aims to analyze the need for the development of an OBS-based hybrid learning model to improve student learning outcomes in economics subjects. This type of research is a survey research and a literature study as the basis and direction of this research. The instrument used was a needs analysis questionnaire with 25 questions given to 36 students of class X science and X social studies at SMAIT Harapan Mulia Palembang. In this study, data analysis used descriptive presntase. Based on the results of this study, students need an OBS-based hybrid learning model to improve learning outcomes in Economics subjects. Overall, this study implies that this learning model can improve student learning outcomes in Economics subjects. The application of the OBS-based hybrid learning model can be recommended for use in other subjects to gain effectiveness in learning activities

Hybrid learning is a type of educational system in which some students attend class in person while others engage virtually from home. Hybrid learning has been applied in all educational institutions since the pandemic. BINUS University used a Learning Management System called Binusmaya to support teaching and learning activities for both hybrid and fully online learning. The objective of this study is to assess the effectiveness of hybrid learning at BINUS University based on student performance academically and non-academically. It focuses on students from the 2019–2020 academic year. The survey obtained 200 replies using a quantitative technique and a Google form as the media questionnaire. Previous research has shown that hybrid learning provides effective results in terms of academic achievement. Compared to this study, few criteria are used to measure the effectiveness of hybrid learning, such as environment, knowledge, and skills. In addition, we have added the comparison between hybrid learning and the full online method at BINUS University. The results indicate that hybrid learning is ineffective compared to fully online learning. Furthermore, hybrid students were dissatisfied with their overall results, and students pursuing full-time online courses outperformed hybrid students.
