The purpose of this study is to evaluate the environmental impacts of material production investments. The factors of Higg Materials Sustainability Index are defined as the parameters. These factors are weighted by considering T-SF TOPSIS-DEMATEL. Moreover, the items of the life cycle process are defined as alternative set for measuring the environmental effects of each process in the sustainable production investments. These alternatives are ranked with interval valued SF MAIRCA. The calculations are also made for different t, u and d values with the aim of making comparative evaluations. The main contribution of this study is that a priority analysis has been made so that the most significant indicators are defined for the companies to increase sustainability in material production investment process. Another important novelty of this paper is that a new model is created by the name of TOPSIS-DEMATEL. This situation has a positive influence on both increasing methodological originality and overcoming criticized issues of DEMATEL. The results are quite similar for all conditions, so it is understood that the proposed model provides consistent and coherent findings. It is concluded that chemistry is the most critical factor for environmental impact for material production investments. Moreover, recycle is determined as the most optimal alternative.

The current pace of the global economy requires a significant increase in energy production. At the same time, the reserves of traditional natural fuels, such as natural gas and oil, are gradually being depleted. Therefore, conventional energy is being replaced by an alternative. Developing the operation technology of the devices that ensure the functioning of alternative energy enterprises is based on the fact that the reliability of such devices should be at the level of traditional power plants. Each device must be not only fault-tolerant but also easy to maintain. It is often considered to be portable and self-contained devices capable of generating energy without excessive maintenance of the equipment by the technical service. The article aimed to solve the problem of using wind energy in a remote area. The leading research method was graph theory analysis. The novelty of the research is determined by the fact that it offers the formation of a model that will meet the standards of functioning at the level of the most significant industrial models used in alternative energy as one of the objects of pure energy production. A wind power generation plant is used as a similar facility. It was revealed that this issue should be considered only provided that such a facility will produce energy in an amount of not less than a similar sample of a traditional energy source in consumption by both industrial and standard consumers. The practical significance of the study is determined by the fact that each of the designed types of facilities can operate in almost any conditions and have high fault tolerance.

Summary Hydro power plants are one of the most cost‐effective renewable technologies which have the potential to replace the conventional fuels. However, reliability of the plant varies with time due to irregularity in flow pattern of the river which depends on the pattern of climatic parameters like precipitation and evapo‐transpiration. The reliability of the plant performance also varies with the efficiency of the power equipment and conveyance coefficient of penstock, both of which are time dependent. When reliability reduces, performance efficiency also gets degraded. That is why, monitoring of reliability in hydro power plants is essential and required to be conducted periodically. But at present, such activities are expensive due to the requirement of extensive surveys, data collection and performance audits of the equipment and structures involved in the power production. There is a lack of single indicator based real time monitoring processes which can be utilized to continuously regulate the reliability of the power plant. Such system can reduce both cost and time required for conducting reliability assessment procedures. That is why, in the present study, an objective and cognitive technique was utilized to develop a single index for real time monitoring of the reliability of a power plant. The results indicate that efficiency of generator, levelized cost of electricity and rate of selling per unit electricity are the most significant indicator which have the capability to represent reliability. A model developed for the present study by Polynomial Neural Network also ensures that regular monitoring of reliability of an HPP is possible.
