A Kantian Argument Against Using Animals

Abstract: This chapter illustrates how Kantianism for Animals can be used creatively by presenting a novel argument against animal use. Traditional ‘abolitionist’ arguments in animal ethics have focused on showing that animal use has objectionable consequences (such as disutility or rights violations) or objectionable preconditions (such as the property status of animals under the law).
