ABSTRACT
The present research brings reflections on the pedagogical practices applied in Early Childhood Education with autistic children. The objective was to highlight the main pedagogical practices applied in Early Childhood Education with autistic children, based on data from the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD) and the journals of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) published between 2019 and 2023. The methodology is bibliographic, based on authors such as Cunha (2015), Alves (2007), Mazzotta (2011) and Mendes (2010), among others, followed by a literature review. Regarding the structure of the article, it is subdivided into four moments, the first of which presents some considerations about the history and legislation of special and inclusive education; in the second moment, autism and its characteristics are presented; in the third moment, a small discussion about pedagogical practices; and the fourth moment is called data analysis, which brings results of the research carried out, followed by final considerations and references. It is concluded that it is necessary to discuss more about the pedagogical practices applied to autistic children, as there are few studies on the subject. The analyzed studies suggest, in common, improvements in the continuing education of teachers in order to have differentiated pedagogical practices that help the work of teachers for the development and learning of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
