A Miopetaurista (Rodentia, Sciuridae) cranium from the Middle Miocene of Bavaria (Germany) and brain evolution in flying squirrels

Abstract: F I G . 1 . Phylogenetic relationships and age for Sciuridae and Ischyromyidae discussed in the text. Within the Sciurinae, the flying (Pteromyini) and tree squirrel (Sciurini) clades are highlighted and Miopetaurista crusafonti is indicated in bold. Tree topology is mostly based on Korth & Emry (1991), Meng et al. (2003) and Casanovas-Vilar et al. (2018) (see text for details).
