A highly selective chemosensor for nickel(II) based on fluorescence quenching of a bispyrazole derivative

Abstract: A novel bispyrazole, 2,6-bis(5-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)-pyridine, was designed and synthesized. The bispyrazole showed extreme selectivity for Ni 2? over other metal ions such as ? in MeOH-H 2 O solution. The sensing sensitivity and binding properties of the bispyrazole for nickel(II) ion were investigated by fluorescent spectroscopic techniques. It was found that the bispyrazole possessed high selectivity and sensitivity toward Ni 2? over other metal ions. The binding stoichiometry was confirmed as 1:1 (bispyr… Show more

“…18 Generally, the accumulation of any heavy metal concentrations above their thresholds, in physiological systems, has severe damages to the body. [19][20][21][22][23][24][25] Exclusively, Al 3+ is the third most abundant metal in the periodic table, highly versatile with distinctively excellent chemistry. It has the ability to form amphoteric compounds, especially in its oxidic forms, exhibiting both basicity and acidity properties, depending on the chemical environment.…”

“…The various industrial use of nickel alloy in production of ornaments and other various appliances [34,35].Over concentration of nickel causes various disorder in human health like lung fibrosis, kidney disease and cardiovascular disorders [36][37][38].Bowen Qin et al have synthesized Ni 2 + ion sensor and has detection limit of 0.46 μM [39]. There are so many compounds synthesized for selective detection of Nickel [40][41][42][43][44][45][46]. In this paper we reported a novel fluoroscent chemosensor for detection of copper and nickel ions.…”
