“…When Bi 3+ ions are doped into the host, there is a strong absorption band from 250 to 400 nm in DRS, which originates from the energy level transition of 1 S 0 → 3 P 1 17 . The absorption peaks appeared at 373, 528, 555, and 668 nm after Er 3+ ions were added into the host, which derive from the energy level transition of 4 I 15/2 → 4 G 11/2 , 4 I 15/2 → 2 H 11/2 , 4 I 15/2 → 4 S 3/2 , and 4 I 15/2 → 4 F 9/2 , respectively 18 .
