This review addresses the most relevant aspects of vibrational spectroscopies (IR, Raman and INS) applied to zeolites and zeotype materials. Surface Brønsted and Lewis acidity and surface basicity are treated in detail. The role of probe molecules and the relevance of tuning both the proton affinity and the steric hindrance of the probe to fully understand and map the complex site population present inside microporous materials are critically discussed. A detailed description of the methods needed to precisely determine the IR absorption coefficients is given, making IR a quantitative technique. The thermodynamic parameters of the adsorption process that can be extracted from a variable-temperature IR study are described. Finally, cutting-edge space- and time-resolved experiments are reviewed. All aspects are discussed by reporting relevant examples. When available, the theoretical literature related to the reviewed experimental results is reported to support the interpretation of the vibrational spectra on an atomic level.

The derivative monomer of pyrrole with the side chain nitroxyl radical, 4-(3-(pyrrol-1-yl)propionamido)-2,2, 6,6-tetramethylpiperidin-1-yloxy (PyATEMPO) was synthesized. Its corresponding polymer PPyATEMPO was successfully prepared by cyclic voltammetry on Pt electrode in NaClO 4 /CH 3 CN solution. The PPyATEMPO electrode showed high electrocatalytic activity for oxidation of benzyl alcohol in the presence of the Lewis base 2,6-lutidine. To further investigation, in situ Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy technique was applied to study the possible electrochemical oxidation mechanism of benzyl alcohol on PPyATEMPO electrode. It showed that the benzyl alcohol was selectively oxidized to benzaldehyde in the action of PPyATEMPO film.

Вивчено сорбційні властивості закарпатського клиноптилоліту стосовно слідових кількостей Gd(III) у динамічних умовах. Показано, що цей лантаноїд найефективніше сорбується зі слабколужних розчинів (рН 9,5). З метою забезпечення сталості рН та іонної сили розчинів запропоновано використання боратного буферного розчину з рН 9,5, хоча в його середовищі значення максимальної буферної ємності клиноптилоліту стосовно Gd(III) становить 65 % від сорбційної ємності, яку досягають з розчину Gd(III) з рН 9,5, створеного за допомогою NaOH. Проведений розрахунок розподілу різних форм Gd(III) у водних розчинах за різної загальної концентрації лантаноїду в діапазоні рН від 5 до 10. Визначено, що сорбція Gd(III) на клиноптилоліті відбувається переважно шляхом адсорбції розчинного нейтрального гідроксиду Gd на поверхні алюмосилікату. За оптимальних умов (діаметр зерен сорбенту -0,200-0,315 мм; рН 9,5; температура попереднього прожарювання клиноптилоліту -250 °С; швидкість пропускання розчину солі Gd(III) з концентрацією 0,5 мкг/мл через сорбент -5 мл/хв) ємність клиноптилоліту становить 6,5 мг/г. Відмінності в механізмі й оптимальних умовах сорбції Gd(III) та Nd(III), Tb(III), Eu(III) дають можливість розділяти Gd(III) від цих РЗЕ. Досліджено вплив поширених у воді іонів на концентрування Gd(III) клиноптилолітом. Показано, що сорбція слідових кількостей Gd(III) відбувається на тлі поширених компонентів вод. Найліпшим десорбентом Gd(III) є 1 М розчин KCl, підкислений до рН 2,6, який забезпечує повне вилучення Gd(III). Запропоновано метод концентрування слідових кількостей Гадолінію з водних розчинів у режимі твердофазової екстракції з подальшим визначенням цього лантаноїду спектрофотометричним методом з використанням арсеназо ІІІ.Ключові слова: сорбція, концентрування, Гадоліній, твердофазова екстракція, клиноптилоліт.
