A Flower-Shaped Quad-Port Dual-Band MIMO Antenna of 29/39 GHz Millimeter-Wave for 5G Applications

Abstract: This research presents a flower-shaped design of a multi-input multi-output (MIMO) antenna with dual wide operating bands in the millimeter-wave (MMW) region proposed for 5G applications. The antenna system consists of a quad-port antenna array placed with a 90-degree shift; it was etched on a low-cost FR-4 dielectric substrate with a full size of 22221 mm 3 . The objective of this work it to enhance the bandwidth of the proposed MIMO antenna as well as to increase the antenna gain. To increase the gain, we … Show more

“…Various attempts have been made to insert a notch filter in the design of a UWB antenna to suppress or reject signals within the desired narrowband range. A literature survey reveals that the use of various shapes of slots and slits on the radiating patches or partial ground in printed monopole antenna (PMA) offers simplicity, ease of fabrication, improved bandwidth, suitable radiation pattern, which is all desirable characteristics for practical antenna design * Correspondence e-mail: tislam7@cougarnet.uh.edu like flower shaped patch [5], meander line slots [6], Cslots [7], J-shape slits [8], and capsule shaped patch [9].
