A Flow Stress Model of 300M Steel for Isothermal Tension

Abstract: To investigate the effect of hot working parameters on the flow behavior of 300M steel under tension, hot uniaxial tensile tests were implemented under different temperatures (950 °C, 1000 °C, 1050 °C, 1100 °C, 1150 °C) and strain rates (0.01 s−1, 0.1 s−1, 1 s−1, 10 s−1). Compared with uniaxial compression, the tensile flow stress was 29.1% higher because dynamic recrystallization softening was less sufficient in the tensile stress state. The ultimate elongation of 300M steel increased with the decrease of tem… Show more

“…The average percentage error was 2.43%, and the average absolute error was 3.59 MPa. The proposed model showed an advantage in precision compared with the modified Arrhenius model (6.23%, 6.81 MPa) and the Kocks-Mecking model (6.59%, 5.37 MPa) in previous literatures [28,32]. low compared with the error at high stress levels, because the average percentage error was used in error evaluation.…”

“…It could be seen that the average grain size model was accurate. The confidence level [28] evaluating the accuracy of the model, R, was calculated to be 0.97, showing the model precision was acceptable. The average error was 3.84% (2.04 μm).…”

“…In most cases, the equation accuracy will increase with the increase in the number of test sets [ 11 , 12 ]. Still, a larger deviation can be seen under the condition of high stress [ 12 , 13 ]. Additionally, optimization works related to the Arrhenius equation were also conducted in in-depth research.…”

“…The 7075 aluminum alloy is the earliest ultra-high strength aluminum alloy and is mainly used for the loadbearing parts of aircraft [1]. Similar to most alloys [4][5][6], the 7000 series aluminum alloys are generally produced by various thermoplastic processes, including extrusion, forging and rolling. However, their thermoplastic forming is complicated, because the deformation behavior is controlled by deformation conditions including strain, strain rate and temperature [7,8].…”
